All
trees including Queen Palms need basic nutrients
to thrive. Nitrogen (N) Phosphorus (P) and
Potassium (K) are needed in varying amounts
by al trees. Moon Valley Nursery's "Moon Dust"
all purpose tree fertilizer is great for all
trees, including palms, for providing ideal
levels of basic nutrients (N, P, K).
Queen Palms and other soft frond palms like
Pygmy Date and Pineapple Palms require a few
more micro-nutrients such as manganese, Magnesium
and Copper, for optimum health. This is why
we've developed Moon Valley Nurseries 8-0-8
Palm Supplement.
Moon Valley Nurseries 8-0-8 Palm Supplement
provides an ideal level of micro nutrients
for growing palms in desert soil. This is
a supplement designed to use in conjunction
with regular applications of Moon Dust all
purpose tree fertilizer. 8-0-8 palm Supplement
only needs to be applied 3 times per year.
Both Moon Dust and 8-0-8 Palm Supplement are
easy to apply, granular fertilizers, which
are the most effective type. Granular fertilizers
should be applied by spreading evenly across
the surface of the entire root area. (see
diagram at top) It is always best to thoroughly
water immediately after fertilizing. (Caution:
fertilizers can sometimes stain porous material
such as concrete, so use care when applying.)
How much Moon Dust and 8-0-8 Palm supplement
to use, will depend on the size of the tree
being fertilized. Both products feature simple,
easy to follow instructions right on the bag.
Queen Palms should be fertilized monthly,
